Just in case you missed Gadget Watch last night. Here it is:
Hi guys! I hope you’re doing great. This is Irene Enriquez and Welcome to fourth episode of Gadget Watch!
Let’s start this week with one of the popular smartphones in the local scene: the Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2.0. Okay, let’s talk about the juicy stuff first. This smartphone runs the latest version of Android Jelly Bean, has a 12 MP camera, and a 5-inch screen size. And the best part is it’s only retailed at P8,999. This is a pretty good deal considering the prices of other smartphones with huge screen size.
Unbox.ph gives “this device their stamp of approval with flying colors.” Although the gadget gurus seem to be impressed with this phone in terms of its specs and price, some users commented that they’ve experienced problems with the headphone jack. When using other headphones from brands like Apple, the sound quality is very poor. So, if you’re considering buying this phone, don’t forget to try it with your favorite headphones first.
Recently a friend asked me which tablet I recommend. And personally, I like the tablets from Samsung. So, if you’re looking for a tablet, you might want to check out the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. What’s different about this tablet is it comes with an S Pen. If you’re a writer or an artist, you can do a lot of pretty neat things with the S-Pen. Check out this cool video:
Besides the very cool S-Pen features, this tablet also has 2 GB Ram, supports up to 64 GB micro SD storage, and has a 5 MP rear camera. It’s a pretty well-rounded tablet. Price ranges from P20000-P23000 for the 16GB wifi version. If this is out of your budget, might I recommend the newer release from the Samsung Galaxy series: the Galaxy Tab 3 7 inch. It is retailed at around P9000-P10000.
On July 23rd, PLDT officially launched their new generation Telpad called the Dual Core Telpad. The new Telpad is packed with a dual-core processor, it runs Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2. It comes with a mini HDMI port, so you can connect it to your HDTV. And it has also a Bluetooth connection and supports up to 32 GB Micro SD storage. It’s a pretty neat tablet, considering that it’s free for all Telpad Plans. It will be officially released to the public on July 31st. If you want to know more details about the features that come with the Dual Core Telpad, please check out my post at DigitalSpidey.com.
Buying Tip of the Week
When window-shopping for a new smartphone or tablet, make sure to ask the sales people to give you the cash price. Most of the time, the price listed in the tag is the credit card price. Try it next time you drop by at the mall. For more awesome tech tips, please visit GeekyGirlyLife.com.
