Why You Should Choose an Oleophobic Screen Protector?

spigen ultra oleophobic screen protectorBuying protective accessories for your gadget is just as important as buying the gadget itself. You’ll be using your smartphone or tablet for the next couple of years (or couple of months for some), so it’s best to invest in things like screen protectors, cases, and sleeves.

Last week, I bought an oleophobic screen protector. It’s the first time to use one. And it’s a big step up from the generic screen protectors I had in the past.

First, what is an oleophobic screen protector?

Oleophobic simply means the “lack of affinity for oils”.

It sounds like a fear of oil.

Now, an oleophobic screen protector does not necessarily run away at the sight or feel of oil. πŸ˜‰

It simply means that it is more resistant to oil (coming from fingers) causing those pesky finger prints.

At first, I was quite skeptical with this idea.

But after two days of using the oleophobic screen protector, I can definitely tell the difference!

First off, it feels very smooth. When scrolling on my news feed, the experience is seamless. It’s as if there’s no screen protector at all.

Secondly, it does not accumulate finger prints right away. This is very convenient as I don’t have to constantly wipe my screen with a micro fiber cloth.

It took two days before I saw a few finger prints on my screen.

Is it expensive?

It’s more expensive than the normal or generic screen protectors. Normally, screen protectors for iPhones would cause around P100-P200.

The oleophobic screen protector I bought costs P790. But it already includes two screen protectors.

So, you can pair up with someone or store the other one for future gadgets or as a spare.

So, each screen protector costs P395. It’s twice the normal screen protectors, but it’s definitely worth it!

With the holidays coming up, I’m sure that you’re up for a new gadget!

If you are, then I highly recommend checking out an oleophobic screen protector.

Have you tried it already? Did you like it as much as I did?

Let me know by sharing your experience below. πŸ™‚
