Inexpensive and Easy Gift Ideas for Your Techie Loved Ones this Valentine’s

Valentine’s may not seem like a big deal like Christmas for a lot of people, but it doesn’t mean you should take your loved ones for granted. Getting them something that lets them know how you feel can be a truly sweet gesture. If you don’t have a lot of money to spend this Valentine’s in buying your honey’s favorite gadget, worry not! You can still satisfy his/her hunger for tech stuff by buying these awesome yet inexpensive gadgets.

This post is specifically dedicated for those who are looking to buy their techie girlfriend or boyfriend something that will complement their existing gadgets. But these easy gift ideas pretty much works for anyone! It can also be great as a gift for your friend, sister, brother, or any family member!

Headset/Earphones (Wireless/Wired)

One can never have enough enough earphones. They can get broken or lost so easily. So, it’s always a good idea to keep a spare. That’s why a pair of earphones is a great Valentine’s gift for techy people! πŸ™‚ Another great thing about this gift is that there are different brands and types of headsets that can fit your budget. The standard headsets can cause from around P500-P1000. But it can go up to P3000 depending on the brand. Β  There are also bluetooth headsets, which are awesome for those who have smart phones.

External Storage (Micro SD, USB Flash Drive, External Hard drive)

A tech geek can never have too many storage devices. If he/she has an expandable smartphone or tablet, giving a micro SD is a great idea. You can even pre-load it with her favorite songs and movies.

The good thing about this gift is that it’s not very expensive, it’s easy to find, and it’s still a thoughtful gift. You can get a 16 or 32 GB micro SD from CD-R King and Data Blitz. When buying from CD-R King, I’d recommend choosing Kingston products. It’s slightly more expensive than the CD-R King, but you can be sure that you’re giving your loved one a quality product.

Gadget accessories (case, pouch, and sleeves)

If you can’t buy your girlfriend an iPhone 5 or the latest iPod touch, why not give her existing phone a new look instead? This can easily be achieved by changing the case and adding cute accessories! There are a lot of types of cases with different types of colors and designs to choose from. It’s definitely easy to buy cases for iPhones and iPod touches, but if she’s using a Samsung or LG phone, make sure to get the exact model.

I highly recommend getting accessories from Capdase. It’s a little more expensive than those being sold in tiangges, but it is highly durable. Price can vary depending on the gadget. But expect to spend at least P1000 for a really good case.

Cards (PSN, iTunes, Xbox Live)

A lot of people may brush this off as a lousy gift because it may seem impersonal. But the truth is getting cards for Play Station Network, for example, can be a big deal for a lot of gamers! These cards can be used to purchase games, downloadable contents, and other neat stuff that gamers and tech geeks really enjoy.

This is also very easy to buy. You can buy cards on line or from stores like Data Blitz. You can get them in different amounts, too! For PSN cards, you can get $10, $20, or $50 cards. Just pick the card that suits your budget, and you’re good to go! πŸ™‚

Mini Speakers

A mobile gadget seems to be incomplete without a mini speaker. Sharing content with friends such as music or a video is more fun when the sound quality is awesome! Nowadays, there are plenty of mini-speakers to choose from. One of the most popular minis is X-mini.Β  The last time I checked, it costs around P1800. This speaker may not compatible with all devices, so you might want to test it out first.

A cheaper option is Music Angel’s mini speaker. It’s cute, has good sound quality, and it’s cheap! Although it’s cheap, the packaging actually looks nice and it comes with more features. It has a retractable wire for easy storage. It also has a micro SD slot. So, even without a phone, you can play music and party! Most stores sell it for P600, but you can get it cheaper when you buy it online.

Even if you don’t have a lot of moolah this Valentine’s, you can still spoil your techy boyfriend or girlfriend. Most of these gifts, will only cost you P500-P2000. Compared to getting him/her a new phone or tablet, this is definitely a wallet-friendly option!

I hope that these easy gift ideas can get you started on shopping for the perfect tech gift! If you’re not planning to buy anyone a gift, why not give it to yourself? πŸ™‚

So, what do you think of Valentine’s? Is it a big deal to you? Or is it one of the holidays you don’t really care about? πŸ™‚
