With all the tablets being release left and right, it’s becoming harder and harder to decide which tablet you should take home. First, there’s a question of price. And then you also need to consider the size, its specs, and operating system. Should you go for a 10” inch display or a smaller one? Should you choose the wifi or 3G model?
To help you decide, I’d like to share my experience in using the Galaxy Tab 7.7. I’ve been using it for more than a month now, and I believe that Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is one of the best tablets in the market right now.
It is an ultra portable tablet, which is great for watching videos, browsing, and mobile gaming. With Android as its operating system, you’ll also never run out of free apps to discover and use.
Design: Slim and Sleek
The first tablet that I ever owned was the iPad 1. At that time it went out, there weren’t many competitions. Although I love Apple and its many great products, I feel like the first iPad is quite bulky for a tablet that I want to bring everywhere. In fact, I rarely bring it outside the house.
Now, I feel exactly the opposite about the Galaxy Tab 7.7. First off, it’s super thin. It’s only 7.99 mm making it look and feel light. I can spend hours holding it while watching YouTube clips without straining my hand. Because of its slim and sleek design, I have no problems putting it in my bag, and taking it with me wherever I go.
Not only it is light, but it also has an amazing screen. It boasts a Super AMOLED Plus screen. This technology consumes less power, and reflects less light. So, it performs great even when you’re outdoors!
It can also play full HD videos. You can play blu ray copies of your favorite movies, and it would simply look gorgeous. Watching high quality videos in YouTube is also a treat for the eyes!
Another reason why I love taking it with me is because of its camera. It has a front (2 megapixels) and back camera (3 megapixels). Although 3 megapixels is not impressive considering the cameras nowadays, it’s a good alternative when you don’t have a digital camera or a DSLR with you.
Sure, Galaxy Tab 7.7 has amazing features, but how much is it?And is it worth the price? I got it for a discounted price of P25680. If you buy it directly from Samsung or from other gadget stores, it costs a little over P28000. So with the price I got, I was able to save more than a thousand bucks.
Now, at the time that I bought this, the new iPad or the iPad 3 was already released. Its wifi 16 gig version costs around P24000. For roughly the same amount, Galaxy Tab 7.7 is already a 3G version.
The memory of Galaxy Tab 7.7 is also expandable. I just went to CD-R King, bought a decent 16 gig micro SD card for less than P1000, and voila the memory capacity has been doubled!
All in all, I’m really impressed with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7’s performance in terms of design, portability, and utility.
Are you currently looking to buy a tablet? Do you think that Galaxy 7.7 is the right one for you? Can you recommend other tablets? Please let me know what you think by commenting below. 🙂
