Western Digital, one of the most trustworthy names when it comes to storage industry, released a new thin drive, dubbed as the My Passport Slim, last October 22, 2013 at their concept store in SM North. My Passport Slim is the first thin drive that offers 2 TB of storage. But it is also available in 1 TB.

Besides its huge storage capacity, My Passport Slim looks absolutely sleek with its metal enclosure. The 1 TB version measures 4.33 X3.14 X.048 inches. It’s thin and light making it easy to bring anywhere. The 2 TB version, on the other hand, is slightly thicker measuring 4.33 X3.14 X 0.7 inches.

Another feature of the My Passport Slim is its 256-bit hardware-based encryption. Since the encryption is hardware-based, the security is always there regardless of which operating system you use.

“The included WD SmartWare Pro data protection software allows users to back up their My Passport Slim and keep extra copy in their Dropbox account for peace of mind.”

Of course, My Passport Slim also comes with USB 3.0 connectivity for fast transfer of digital files.

My Passport Slim 1 TB’s Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) is PHP 5190, while the 2 TB version is PHP 8490. Both versions are also protected by a three-year limited warranty. Right now, it is avaialbe at selected retailers and distributed by EA Global Supply Chain Solutions INc. and Iontech.

My Passport Slim is not only sleek and sexy, it’s also super portable and secure. It’s a great storing solution that you can bring anywhere and a great companion for your gadgets.
