Have you found yourself confused and indecisive about buying a new mascara, foundation, or lipstick? There are gazilion makeup products from different brands, which can be a bit of a headache sometimes. So when in doubt, I always turn to Google. 🙂 I just bring up Google, and voila! I’ve got access to tons of makeup reviews.
I trust makeup reviews online both by bloggers and consumers because it allows me to evaluate other people’s experiences with the products. I value what they have to say about makeup products, most especially if it’s quite expensive. I don’t want to spend a lot of money on something that I will later regret. I love makeup and beauty products, but I don’t want to have a pile of crap that I don’t use.
Makeup Reviews by Bloggers vs. Consumers
There are two types of sources that you can check out for reviews online. First off, you can read reviews from beauty bloggers all around the world. The good thing about these reviews is that they are very detailed. Bloggers would often include their own photos, their personal experiences, where they got the producst, and their recommendation.
You can also find reviews directly from consumers or users from sites like Amazon or Makeup Alley. The good thing about this is that you can check the average rating of the products. This is a convenient feature that gives you a quick overview of the users’ experience. The only downside is that the reviews are often very short. It may not provide you with all the details you need.
Awesome Sites that you can Check Out for Reviews
Although I only buy ebooks from Amazon, I still use it to check reviews of products like makeup, cosmetics, and gadgets. It gives you quick access to how many people reviewed a certain product, and how many of them gave it a great rating.
This blog can be a paradise of information for makeup junkies. Not only it has reviews of makeup products, but it also provides great tips!
Lia’s blog not only covers makeup, but she also writes reviews about beauty tools like makeup brushes and curling irons. (It’s also one of the many blogs that inspire me to do well in blogging.)
I know there are many other awesome sites out there, but these sites are the ones that I visit the most. 🙂 Can you recommend other sites? Are you like me who always checks makeup reviews online before buying something? Do you trust reviews? I really want to hear what you think, so please do drop by and leave a comment. 🙂
