How time flies! It’s already September! And this month, GirlyGeek.Ph turns one year. It’s been an amazing journey since I changed domain names from GeekyGirlyLife.com. I’ve met a lot of awesome people and done some really cool things. I became part of Philippine Bloggers Network, got hired by Veems, and worked as an Associate Editor for Adventour magazine. And just recently, I got featured in GMA’s Pop Talk!
This blog has made a huge positive impact in my personal and professional life.
And I want to give something back!
So, for this contest, I’m giving away two things:
- Php500 Starbucks Card
And a chance to spend time with me!
It’s been a while since I did a giveaway. And I really want to make this one special. So, I thought what could be more special than giving away a piece of me? No, I’m not going to mail you my thumb. 😉
I’m giving away a Starbucks card, so that anyone in the Philippines can join! And as some of you know, Starbucks is my vice. So, giving you a Starbucks card is like giving a piece of something I truly love.
Now, I’m also giving away something even more special than a card. I’m giving away my time. So, for two lucky winners, we are going to go out and have coffee in Starbucks. And cookies, too! My treat! And I’m going to share everything I’ve learned in the past few years about blogging and freelancing.
To win the Starbucks card, simply follow the instructions below:

Why Coffee Can Lead to Awesome Things
When I started my freelance career in June, one of the things that really helped me out was reading BeaFreelanceWriter.com. One day, Francesca, the writer behind the blog, sent a newsletter saying that she was going to Manila. I immediately replied to the email. I asked, “Could I take you out for coffee when you’re in Manila?” I knew it was a long shot. She might even think I was creepy for asking her out. But she replied after a few days. She wrote, “I would be happy to.”
And a few weeks later, we were in Starbucks. We only talked for a little over an hour, but the lessons I’ve learned from her would last me a lifetime. We talked about how she started her freelancing career. She also shared productivity tips. And she even encouraged me to write a guest post on her blog.
I hope to recreate this kind of experience. I want to help other people the way Francesca helped me out.
So, I do hope that you join this contest! Let’s talk about our hopes and dreams over coffee!
If you know a friend who needs help on blogging and/or freelance writing, please make sure to share this contest with them.
