LG Curved OLED TV: The Future of TV is Here in the Philippines

a photo of three lg curved oled tvLast night, LG Philippines gave the media a sneek peek of the LG Curved OLED TV at Black Sheep Penthouse, W Fifth Avenue, Bonifacio Global City.

I was one of the fortunate people to attend. Upon seeing the gorgeous LG Curved OLED TV, I immediately fell in love with its slim and futuristic design, its features, and the technology that powers it.

The LG Curved OLED TV is a product of five years of extensive research. One aspect of the research is to determine the most ergonomic design for the display, which would also provide great viewing angles. This design even got recognized by international award-giving bodies such as the Red Dot Design Award.

The TV is only 4.3 mm thick (approximately three credit cards and as thin as some smarthpones). Because backlights are not needed, it consumes less power making the LG Curved OLED TV more energy efficient.

What is OLED?

According to Wikipedia.org,  an OLED (organic light-emitting diode) is a light-emitting diode (LED) in which the emissive electroluminescent layer is a film of organic compound which emits light in response to an electric current. This layer of organic semiconductor is situated between two electrodes. Generally, at least one of these electrodes is transparent. OLEDs are used to create digital displays in devices such as television screens, computer monitors, portable systems such as mobile phones, handheld games consoles and PDAs.

That’s why there is no backlight needed, because the the organic compound emits light when an electric current is applied.

One of its amazing feature is its capability to play 3D. The media got to see its 3D technology in action as we watched a 3D video clip showcasing its power.

And I must honestly say that I got swept away. It’s the best 3D TV that I have laid my eyes on. The 3D depth is mind blowing–it’s as if I got a mini IMAX right in front of me.

Besides its OLED and 3D technology, the LG curved TV is also a Smart TV. This means that it can connect to a wi-fi and use it like a computer. It comes with apps and games that you can download from LG apps.

This futuristic remote control is brilliantly designed. It has a mic that can be used when Skyping or doing voice search.

You can easily control the different features of the TV with its futuristic and top grade remote control. Unlike most flat TV remote controls, this remote control fits perfectly in your hand (it’s pretty much like Wii’s controller). It acts like a mouse when you control the TV, so it’s easy to point it at any part of the screen. The remote control even comes with voice recognition–allowing you to search the content of your TV.

The LG Curved OLED TV is the future of home entertainment and it is right within our reach.

With its gorgeous design, top grade technology, and jam-packed features, it’s hard not to fall in love with this state-of-the-art machinery.
